  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling (or about 2 cups homemade filling)
  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup (133 g) granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1 cup (125 g) confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in vegetable oil, all-purpose flour, and kosher salt until soft dough forms.
  3. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Prepare your pizza pan with parchment paper.
  5. Press the risen dough onto the prepared pan, creating dimples on the surface.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden.
