  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound ground bison meat
  • 4 chicken hamburger buns (toasted)
  • 1/4 Cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1/4 Cup ketchup
  • 1/4 Cup mayonnaise
  • Thin sliced raw onion
  • Sliced tomato
  • Crisp lettuce leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onions for about 5 minutes until soft; set aside to cool.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the beaten egg, rosemary, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well and add the cooled onions.
  3. Gently mix in ground bison meat until combined. Form into four patties about ½ inch thick and chill in the refrigerator or freezer briefly.
  4. Cook patties in a skillet or on a grill over medium heat for 5–7 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
  5. Assemble burgers on toasted buns with your favorite sauces and garnishes like lettuce and tomato.
