  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken (breast, thighs, or tenderloins)
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup fruit juice (apple or pineapple)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, boil the soy sauce, fruit juice, sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
  2. Reserve ¼ cup of the teriyaki sauce; pour the rest over the chicken in a mixing bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  3. Preheat your grill to high heat. Remove chicken from marinade and place on the grill.
  4. Grill for about 5 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165º F. Brush with reserved marinade while cooking.
  5. Serve immediately with extra sauce if desired.
