  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 ½ teaspoon chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder or 1 small square of dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onions, and minced garlic. Sauté until the beef is browned and onions are soft.
  2. Transfer the mixture to your slow cooker and add chopped tomatoes, tomato purée, mixed beans, beef stock, and seasonings. Stir well.
  3. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 5 hours until tender. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed before serving.
