  • 1 & ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¾ cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ⅔ cup pumpkin puree, blotted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cream together softened butter, white sugar, and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in the egg, maple syrup, and blotted pumpkin puree; mix well.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just mixed.
  6. Fold in half of the chopped pecans.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a lined cookie sheet, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake for 13–15 minutes until lightly golden; cool on a rack.
  9. Prepare icing by whisking together powdered sugar, maple syrup, cloves, and cinnamon; drizzle over cooled cookies and sprinkle remaining pecans.
