Indulge in the creamy delight of homemade Crema di Limoncello, a sumptuous Italian beverage that bursts with zesty lemon flavor. Perfect for any occasion, this rich and velvety drink can be enjoyed chilled on its own or as an exciting addition to mocktails and desserts.

Ingredients

  • 4 lemons (peels only)
  • 1 liter milk
  • 600 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 500 mL fruit juice or broth (substituted for neutral spirit)

Instructions

  1. Wash the lemons thoroughly and carefully remove the peel using a vegetable peeler, avoiding the white pith.
  2. Place the lemon peels in a mason jar, cover with fruit juice or broth, seal tightly, and let steep in a cool dark place for at least 6 days.
  3. After steeping, strain the mixture through cheesecloth into a clean bottle.
  4. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the milk and sugar until dissolved; add the vanilla bean and let cool.
  5. Combine the cooled milk mixture with strained lemon infusion, stir well, and strain again into a decanter.
  6. Store in the refrigerator or freezer until ready to serve.
