  • 1 large egg yolk (room temperature)
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  2. In one bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. Beat the cooled butter with both sugars until resembling wet sand.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually stir in dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Chill dough for at least one hour (up to 72 hours for enhanced flavor).
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Portion dough into balls and place on sheets spaced apart.
