  • 3 Tbsp oil
  • 12 oz chow mein noodles (uncooked)
  • 2 cups cabbage
  • 1 large carrot (julienned)
  • 1/2 batch green onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 4 Tbsp oyster sauce alternative
  • 3 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp light sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 Tbsp corn starch
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together oyster sauce alternative, sugar, sesame oil, soy sauce, chicken broth, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Cook chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse under cold water; set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a wok or large pan over medium heat. Cut chicken into bite-sized strips and cook until golden brown; set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté julienned carrots and chopped cabbage with minced garlic until softened.
  5. Return chicken and noodles to the pan; pour sauce over everything and cook for an additional two minutes until well combined.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving hot from the pan.
