  • 1/2 cup grated apple
  • 1 cup chilled buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, and spices.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in grated apple and gradually mix in the chilled buttermilk until just combined.
  5. Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and pat into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
  6. Cut out biscuits and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
